The Maharashtra government has transferred 118 acres of land in Malad-Malvani to the Dharavi Redevelopment Project for rehabilitation housing, marking the third major land acquisition.

The site, valued at Rs 540 crore with Rs 135 crore paid as a development premium, will help build 1.25 to 1.5 lakh homes across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region to resettle about 10 lakh people within seven years.
