Kevin Weetman got life in prison for setting a fire that killed an elderly couple in a drug-related attack.
Kevin Weetman, 34, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years for orchestrating an arson attack that killed elderly couple Sheila Jackson, 83, and Eric Greener, 77, in St Helens on July 15, 2025.
The fire, set during a dispute over drugs, resulted in both victims dying from burns and smoke inhalation.
Weetman, a known drug dealer, was convicted of manslaughter and conspiracy to supply cocaine, alongside co-accused Kylie Maynard, who received a 23-year sentence, and Lee Owens, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 13 years and six months.
A fourth man, Paul Smith, linked to the attack, died of a suspected drug overdose days after the fire, and police are investigating his death.
The court heard the attack was intended to pressure Jackson’s son, who had refused to sell drugs, but the victims were inside the home.
The judge condemned Weetman’s lack of remorse and described the crime as exceptionally serious.
