Jonathan Cain is leaving Journey after the 2026 Final Frontier Tour due to age and touring demands, focusing on Christian music.
Jonathan Cain, Journey’s longtime keyboardist and co-writer of hits like "Don't Stop Believin’," is departing the band after the two-year Final Frontier Tour, starting Feb. 27, 2026.
He cited personal reasons, including age and the physical demands of touring, and plans to focus on Christian music, inspired by a disaster relief trip to Chimney Rock, N.C., after Hurricane Helene.
Cain is releasing a six-song EP, "Amen to the Rescue," with more material in the works.
The tour will feature a two-hour set of hits and deep cuts, emphasizing legacy and fan connection.
He confirmed no new Journey music will be made during the tour, and while bandmate Neal Schon plans to continue, Cain has no predictions for the band’s future.
