Hormel Foods has agreed to sell its whole-bird turkey business to Life-Science Innovations (LSI), a Minnesota-based company, as part of a strategic shift toward higher-value protein products.
The deal, expected to close by late June 2026, includes the Melrose production facility, Swanville feed mill, and related assets, along with supply contracts and co-manufacturing agreements to ensure a smooth transition through fiscal 2026.
The transaction excludes the Jennie-O brand and value-added turkey products.
Hormel reported preliminary first-quarter 2026 results, projecting $3 billion in net sales and a 2% organic sales increase, marking its fifth consecutive quarter of growth.
Financial terms were not disclosed, and final results are set for release on February 26.
