The ICJ affirmed its jurisdiction in 2020 and again in 2023, rejecting Venezuela’s challenges.
Guyana continues to comply with provisional measures ordered by the court, urging Venezuela to do the same, while reaffirming its commitment to resolving the dispute through international law.
Oral hearings at the ICJ are set for May 2026.
