Google’s Sundar Pichai announced a $15B investment in India, including an AI hub and subsea cable, at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Google CEO Sundar Pichai visited the Bharat GI Coffee Lounge, highlighting India’s new national initiative to promote Geographical Indication (GI) products globally, starting with Indian GI Coffee. The Bharat GI program, launched by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, aims to boost international recognition and premium status for India’s regional goods. The summit, held February 16–21, featured the India AI Impact Expo across 70,000 square meters with 300 pavilions, 600 startups, and 500 sessions, showcasing real-world AI applications. Pichai announced Google’s $15 billion investment in India, including a gigawatt-scale AI hub in Visakhapatnam and a new subsea cable, emphasizing AI’s role in inclusive progress and global collaboration.
