Wisconsin Republicans propose $2.3B surplus plan with tax rebates and school/flood aid, excluding Evers' requested school funding.
Wisconsin’s Republican leaders have proposed a $2.3 billion plan to use the state’s budget surplus, including $500 tax rebates for individuals and $1,000 for married couples, $500 million in school levy tax credits, and funding for special education, flood relief, and the FoodShare program.
The plan does not include the $450 million in general school funding sought by Governor Tony Evers, who has not yet reviewed the proposal.
Republicans aim to deliver rebates by week’s end, while Evers’ office remains silent on the offer.
