The blaze, reported near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West, originated on the 12th floor, where a person was rescued but pronounced dead.
Fire crews contained the fire to the unit of origin, and all searches are complete.

Separately, a porch collapse at a construction site in Hamilton’s Stoney Creek trapped three workers, one with a serious leg injury; all were rescued and hospitalized.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident, and the road has since reopened.
