Emergency crews are working around the clock amid disruptions, as saturated ground delays runoff and keeps pressure on infrastructure weeks after rain ends.
Long-term sewer sealing projects, including £3.5 million in Penton Mewsey and Appleshaw to seal over 15.5 km of pipes, are underway to reduce groundwater infiltration and protect rivers and harbors, with work expected to finish by autumn 2026.
