Charlotte FC’s Atrium Health Performance Center has been chosen as the base camp for Scotland’s national soccer team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking Scotland’s return to the tournament for the first time since 1998.
The facility in east Charlotte will serve as the team’s training and lodging site ahead of their group stage matches in Boston and Miami.
The selection highlights Charlotte’s rising role in international sports, supported by its modern infrastructure, airport access, and historical ties to Scottish immigrants.
The team, led by coach Steve Clarke, is expected to stay for several weeks during the June 11–July 19 tournament.
