Russian athletes return to Paralympics under their flag and anthem in 2026, after IOC lift ban.
Russian athletes will compete under their own flag and anthem at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Paralympics for the first time since 2014, following a decision by the International Paralympic Committee to restore Russia’s National Paralympic Committee.
Six Russian athletes will compete in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding, while four Belarusian athletes will compete in cross-country skiing.
The move marks a reversal of previous bans due to doping and the war in Ukraine, and allows the Russian national anthem to be played if an athlete wins gold.
The Games are set for March 6–15, 2026.
