New Zealand opens $22M integrated military health centre to boost service members' wellbeing and readiness.
A new $22 million military health and rehabilitation centre, Tû Manawa Ora, has opened at Burnham Military Camp in New Zealand, becoming the first integrated health and performance facility across the New Zealand Defence Force’s network.
The 18-month project unites services including physiotherapy, mental health support, emergency response, research, and training under one roof to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of service members.
Located at the largest military base in the South Island, the centre aims to boost operational readiness, retention, and long-term support for personnel.
It was delivered by the Defence Estate and Infrastructure group with partners Hawkins New Zealand, Ernst & Young, GHD NZ, and Beca.
