On January 23–24, 2026, Junior UCMACS Abacus Mental Arithmetic Skills in Chennai set a new Asian Book of Records milestone by organizing a global event with 498 students from seven Indian states and seven countries solving 264,416 arithmetic problems in 30-minute sessions over 18 hours.
The competition, held both in person and online, tested skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and was certified by the Asian Book of Records with oversight by Dr. Manoharan Santharam.
The event highlighted the program’s effectiveness in building mental agility, focus, and confidence, with participants and parents noting significant improvements in problem-solving abilities.
