A Florida man was indicted for allegedly supplying banned drugs to a U.S. sprinter to boost performance ahead of the 2024 Olympics.
Paul Alexander Askew, 46, of Jacksonville, Florida, has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly conspiring to supply banned performance-enhancing drugs to an athlete between July 2023 and January 2024, with the intent to influence major international track events including the 2024 Paris Olympics, U.S. Olympic Trials, and World Athletics Indoor Championships.
The case, brought under the Rodchenkov Act, involves a U.S. Olympic sprinter, identified in related reports as Marvin Bracy-Williams, who received a 45-month doping ban and cooperated with investigators.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is leading the investigation with support from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
If convicted, Askew faces up to 10 years in prison and asset forfeiture.
