Doug Moe, the former Denver Nuggets head coach who led the team to nine consecutive playoff appearances from 1980 to 1990 and earned NBA Coach of the Year honors in 1987-88, has died at age 87. Known for his fast-paced, high-scoring style, Moe compiled a 628-529 career record with the Spurs, Nuggets, and 76ers, making 12 playoff trips. Under his leadership, the Nuggets led the NBA in scoring six times, and his 432 wins rank second in franchise history. The team will honor his legacy with a banner in the rafters. Moe also played professionally in Italy and the ABA, winning a championship with the Oakland Oaks and earning three All-Star selections.
