Two men to stand trial in October 2026 for the 2024 murder of Gary Piatek.

Two men, Yosif Ibrahim, 43, of Leicester, and Omed Firuzman, 25, of Bournemouth, are set to stand trial on October 12, 2026, for the murder of 60-year-old Gary Piatek, last seen alive on April 18, 2024. They face charges related to the period April 17–20, 2024, with a trial expected to last up to eight weeks. Police searched a property in Evington, including demolishing part of its extension, and eight people have been charged in connection with the case, including allegations of fraud, possessing criminal property, and assisting an offender. Ibrahim and Firuzman are due to return to court on March 26 to enter their pleas.
