The stop began due to equipment violations. Separately, Utah’s Grand County Sheriff’s Office seized about 12 pounds of methamphetamine during a Valentine’s Day weekend vehicle stop, with authorities believing the drugs were headed to Colorado for distribution, including in Moab. No arrests were made in the second case, and investigations remain ongoing.
