Texas A&M University–Texarkana has launched an endowed nursing scholarship funded by a donation from the Council on Regional Health Education, a nonprofit focused on expanding health education in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.
The scholarship supports students in the university’s nursing program, helping them train locally and address regional healthcare workforce shortages.
University President Dr. Ross Alexander and the Council’s board highlighted the initiative’s role in retaining talent and strengthening community health infrastructure.
The nursing program is part of the College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services.
