A survey reveals bribery is seen as the most common corruption in the Philippines, with 73% of adults citing it.
A recent OCTA Research survey commissioned by the Office of the Ombudsman found that 73% of Filipino adults consider bribery the most common form of government corruption, followed by misuse of public funds (66%), vote buying (64%), and slow justice (54%).
Conducted from December 3 to 11, 2025, among 1,200 adults with a ±3 percentage point margin of error, the survey highlights bribery’s visibility in daily government interactions.
Vote buying was a top concern in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, while public procurement irregularities were more cited in the National Capital Region.
Higher-income respondents were more concerned about bribery and fund misuse, while lower-income groups expressed greater worry over vote buying.
The findings underscore the need for targeted anti-corruption efforts addressing systemic and everyday forms of corruption.
