Patrice Motsepe has stepped down as executive chairman of African Rainbow Minerals (ARM) effective February 16, 2026, transitioning to non-executive chairman to comply with new Johannesburg Stock Exchange rules requiring separation of executive and non-executive roles.
The change aims to improve corporate governance and transparency.
Motsepe, who founded ARM in 2003, will continue supporting the company’s global competitiveness.
ARM also appointed its first chief operating officer and has faced challenges including a 56% drop in interim profits, asset sales, and operational restructuring.
Full-year results are due March 5, 2026.
