Obi criticizes Tinubu for prioritizing solar power at Aso Rock over fixing Nigeria’s national grid, calling it a failure to deliver on electricity promises.
Presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticized President Bola Tinubu over reports that the Aso Rock Presidential Villa may disconnect from Nigeria’s national power grid and rely solely on solar energy, citing a 2025 budget allocation of ₦10 billion for solar and further funding in 2026.
Obi accused the administration of failing to deliver on campaign promises of reliable electricity, noting little improvement in the national grid after 32 months in office.
While acknowledging the value of renewable energy, he warned that isolating the seat of power from the grid undermines efforts to improve electricity access for ordinary Nigerians and reflects a lack of empathy and accountability in governance.
Obi critica a Tinubu por dar prioridad a la energía solar en Aso Rock sobre la reparación de la red nacional de Nigeria, calificándola como un fracaso para cumplir las promesas de electricidad.
