Nagaland teachers protest 13th day, demand job regularisation after unmet promises.
Members of the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) 2015 Batch are continuing an indefinite sit-in protest in Kohima, demanding regularisation of their teaching positions.
The protest, now in its 13th day, began February 4, 2026, after repeated unmet promises and a lack of a clear timeline despite government acknowledgment of their concerns.
The teachers, citing a breach of the 2022 High-Powered Committee agreement, insist their recruitment process was completed in 2017 and regularisation is overdue.
They rejected a government response that acknowledged their contributions but declined to commit to a specific date, vowing to escalate actions, including hunger strikes, if no firm commitment is made.
A meeting with the advisor for school education is scheduled for February 17, while another with the chief minister’s office is set for the same day.
The protest remains ongoing outside the Directorate of School Education.
