Jammu and Kashmir reopens 14 tourist sites on Feb 16, 2026, after security review post-2025 Pahalgam attack.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the reopening of 14 tourist sites across the Union Territory on February 16, 2026, following a security review after a deadly April 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
The sites, including popular destinations in the Kashmir and Jammu divisions, had been closed as a precaution.
Eleven locations in the Kashmir Valley and three in the Jammu division are now open, with Gurez, Athwatoo, Bangus, and Ramkund to reopen once snow clearance is complete.
This brings the total reopened sites to 26, following an earlier reopening of 12 in September 2025.
The move aims to revive tourism while ensuring public safety through enhanced security measures.
