The Philadelphia 76ers have reacquired veteran guard Cameron Payne on a rest-of-season deal, returning him to the team after a stint with Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. Payne, 31, previously played 31 games for the Sixers in 2023-24, averaging 9.3 points and 3.1 assists, and contributed during their playoff series against the New York Knicks. He joins the team after being waived by the Knicks and playing in Europe, where he averaged 12.4 points and 3.9 assists in 10 EuroLeague games. The move comes as the Sixers manage roster challenges due to the trade of Jared McCain, the suspension of Paul George, and injuries, aiming to bolster depth behind Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
