Dominic Lefebvre, accused of assaulting a hotel custodian with a bike lock in 2025, now claims he used a lighter, but the Crown rejects this, and the case resumes on Feb. 17, 2026.
Dominic Lefebvre, 35, faces legal uncertainty after contradicting his earlier guilty plea in a 2025 assault case at the Frood Hotel in Sudbury, claiming he used a lighter instead of a metal bike lock.
The Crown rejected the change, citing the victim’s statement, and the court recessed for private consultation.
Lefebvre, who also faces unrelated Toronto charges, allegedly attacked the custodian after claiming the man molested his missing cat, causing head injuries requiring no stitches.
He later called police, saying he was set up and appeared incoherent.
The case is set for resumption on February 17, 2026.
