UK study: Adults over 50 reject tech-illiterate stereotypes, embracing youthful lifestyles despite age gaps in perception.
A UK study of 2,000 adults shows people over 50 are frustrated by stereotypes labeling them as tech-illiterate, stuck in the past, or boring, with 33% objecting to being seen as resistant to change and 29% annoyed by being called unadventurous.
Despite these perceptions, 59% describe their lifestyles as youthful, with many gaming three hours weekly, running long distances, and taking up to four annual trips with friends.
Nearly half follow popular TV, and 72% feel knowledgeable about global cultures.
The study reveals a gap in age perceptions, with 50-59-year-olds seeing 'old' as 68, while under-30s place it at 56.
