Two Romanian men, aged 37 and 57, have been charged with 89 offences each in connection with a car park scam targeting elderly women across New South Wales from January 3 to January 7.
Police allege they posed as helpers, distracting victims while stealing wallets, cash, and cards from vehicles in locations including Sydney, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, and the Illawarra.
The suspects were arrested on January 7 and are accused of using false information to enter Australia on December 28, 2025.
They face charges including fraud, theft, unauthorized entry, dealing with stolen goods, and making false statements under the Migration Act.
Two other men believed to be involved remain at large and are wanted by authorities.
