Thieves stole over ₹1 crore in gold and silver from a Coimbatore jewellery shop while the owner was at a festival.
A jewellery pawn shop in Coimbatore, India, was burgled late Saturday night, with thieves stealing about 70 gold sovereigns and 20 kilograms of silver, valued at over Rs 1 crore.
The shop, Mahadev Jewellers & Finance, was broken into around 11 p.m. while the owner attended a temple festival in Vellore.
Suspects forced open the rear shutter and fled.
Police secured CCTV footage, conducted forensic tests, and used a sniffer dog in the investigation, which is ongoing.
