Saskatchewan has added its fourth robot-assisted surgical system at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, expanding access to minimally invasive, precise surgeries using the da Vinci platform.
Since its December 2025 launch, nearly 20 procedures—including colorectal, liver, and cancer-related operations—have been performed.
The province now has four such systems, the highest per capita in Canada, with 438 surgeries in Saskatoon and 58 in Regina in 2025.
