They were treated at a fuel dock before being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center’s Burn Unit.
East Jefferson Fire Rescue responded, entering a “status-zero” condition due to the high demand, prompting recalls of off-duty personnel.
The U.S. Coast Guard and Washington Department of Ecology were notified, and the fire continued into the afternoon.
The cause remains under investigation.
