Patriot Resources has announced a maiden inferred mineral resource of 31.39 million silver-equivalent ounces from its Tassa project in southern Peru, based on 18.53 million tonnes at 52.68 grams per tonne silver-equivalent.
The deposit, which includes 25.5 million ounces of silver and 40,000 ounces of gold, is hosted in a large, open-ended epithermal system and is suited for cost-effective open-pit mining.
Defined by 26 diamond drillholes, the resource was calculated using a 25g/t cut-off and has a low equivalent cost of about $0.04 per ounce.
The C1 zone contributes 14.79 million ounces.
High-grade intersections include 60 meters at 224.2g/t silver and 81.9 meters at 0.41g/t gold.
Patriot plans step-out and infill drilling to upgrade the resource, with a broader exploration target of 40 to 87 million ounces.
