Mikaël Kingsbury won Canada’s first gold at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics in men’s dual moguls.
On February 15, 2026, at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Canada won its first gold medal of the Games when Mikaël Kingsbury claimed victory in the men’s dual moguls, a new Olympic event.
The 33-year-old Quebec skier, competing in his final Olympics, defeated Japan’s Horishima Ikuma and Australia’s Matt Graham to earn his second Olympic gold and fifth overall medal.
His win ended a nine-day gold medal drought for Canada, which had previously earned three silver and five bronze medals.
The Canadian men’s hockey team also advanced to the quarterfinals with a 10-2 win over France, while Italy rose to second in the medal count and Norway remained atop with 26 medals.
