Gas prices in Michigan rose 15 cents last week, reaching a 2026 high of $2.98 per gallon on average, according to AAA, with metro Detroit at $2.99 and Ann Arbor at $3.07.
Prices remain 9 cents below the same time last year and $6 cheaper than the August 2025 peak.
The national average was $2.93.
Gasoline demand rose to 8.30 million barrels per day, supply reached 259.1 million barrels, and crude oil inventories increased to 428.8 million barrels, still 3% below the five-year average.
West Texas Intermediate crude rose to $64.63 per barrel.
