Loraini Seru has been appointed as Fiji’s first female Assistant Commissioner of Police, leading the Internal Affairs and Professional Standards Unit.
Her promotion, based on merit and recommended by a board with internal and external members, marks a historic milestone for women in the Fiji Police Force.
Seru, who joined in 1995, has held key roles including head of Criminal Investigations and secondment to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption.
She has also served in Liberia and earned advanced training and certifications.
Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu emphasized that all appointments remain merit-based, while noting Seru’s appointment is expected to inspire women and girls in law enforcement.
