Kaduna’s former governor demands answers on Nigerians' safety after NSAS allegedly bought toxic thallium from Poland.
Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has demanded answers from National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu over reports that the Office of the National Security Adviser procured 10 kilograms of highly toxic thallium sulphate from Poland.
In a January 30 letter, El-Rufai, acting in good faith, sought details on the substance’s intended use, supplier, permits, storage, and coordination with health agencies like NAFDAC and NCDC.
He emphasized concerns over public safety, transparency, and institutional accountability.
The request follows claims El-Rufai made about intercepted communications involving Ribadu and allegations of surveillance.
The ONSA has not publicly responded, and the procurement’s legitimacy remains unverified.
