India opens its first national cow culture museum in Mathura, showcasing cows' religious, cultural, and scientific significance with digital exhibits and a dairy parlour.
India’s first national cow culture museum will open in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on the campus of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University, following approval by the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.
The museum, initiated under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s direction, will showcase the religious, cultural, and scientific importance of cows through around 100 digital and symbolic models of major and endangered cattle breeds.
It will feature exhibits on the nutritional and Ayurvedic benefits of cow milk and its products like ghee and curd, using modern presentation techniques.
A functioning dairy parlour on-site will provide visitors with pure, locally produced dairy goods, promoting a blend of tradition, conservation, and sustainable livelihoods.
