On February 15, 2026, Fouzia Jbara Mahmoudi of Morocco was named winner of the sixth Arab Hope Makers initiative, receiving AED1 million for her work with Operation Smile, which provides free cleft surgery to children.
Two other finalists—Hend Alhajri from Kuwait and Abderrahmane Rais from Morocco—each received AED1 million, totaling AED3 million in prizes.
The event, held at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena, recognized over 15,800 participants across the Arab world, with winners selected via public voting.
The initiative, launched in 2017 by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, has collected over 335,000 stories, highlighting grassroots humanitarian efforts.
Operation Smile, founded in 1999, operates three medical centers in Morocco and is building a fourth in Marrakech, having treated thousands of children.
