The El Paso Museum of Art has reopened after a $3.5 million upgrade to its infrastructure, enhancing environmental controls and security.
During its temporary closure, staff hosted nearly 50 off-site arts programs.
The museum’s grand reopening featured the first-ever presentation in El Paso of Frida Kahlo–Sus Fotos, an exhibition of 241 personal photographs from Kahlo’s archive, many discovered after her death.
The exhibit, on display through May 17, 2026, explores her life, relationships, politics, and resilience, and has drawn over one million visitors worldwide.
The museum also highlighted local talent through the IMPOSTERS Vol.
3 event, uniting over 50 El Paso artists.
