Dharma Productions sues Humble Motion over canceled Punjabi film deal, seeking $850K in damages and an injunction.
Dharma Productions, owned by Karan Johar, has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court against Dubai-based Humble Motion Pictures, claiming wrongful termination of a December 2025 agreement for a Punjabi film.
Dharma alleges the contract, which required no production costs but entitled it to revenue shares to recover Rs 7.03 crores in prior losses, was unilaterally ended on January 21, 2026, despite Dharma promoting the film through its social media.
The company argues the contract lacked a termination-at-will clause and seeks interim relief, including an injunction, deposit of 50% of film revenues, financial disclosures, and a court deposit of Rs 7.03 crores.
A hearing is set for February 18, 2026.
