Critica Ltd. achieved high-grade rare earth carbonate at its Australian project, with 58% TREO and 80% recovery, supporting low-cost, low-impact mining.
Critica Limited has successfully produced high-grade rare earth carbonate at its Jupiter project in Western Australia, achieving 58% total rare earth oxides (TREO) with 80% recovery, potentially up to 89% with recycling. The concentrate is rich in critical magnet elements and features low uranium and thorium levels, easing permitting. The deposit, Australia’s largest clay-hosted rare earth resource, contains 1.8 billion tonnes grading 1700 ppm TREO and 39 ppm gallium. Initial processing boosted TREO by 830%, and the near-surface, soft clay geology supports lower mining costs. Critica’s “beneficiate-first” strategy aims to scale up early ore upgrading, with a scoping study targeted for completion by June 2026.
