Thiruvananthapuram Airport added three high-speed crash fire tenders on Feb. 14, 2026, to boost safety amid rising flight traffic.
Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has enhanced its emergency response with three new Rosenbauer Panther CFT crash fire tenders, commissioned on February 14, 2026. Each vehicle, powered by a 700 HP engine, can reach 80 km/h in under 30 seconds and carries 12,500 liters of water, 1,500 liters of foam, and 250 kg of dry chemical powder. The upgrade, overseen by airport executives, strengthens the airport’s fire safety and emergency preparedness amid a 22% increase in weekly flight operations, driven by expanded domestic and international routes under the Winter Schedule 2025.
