Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut falsely claimed India-Pakistan cricket matches are rigged betting fronts for BJP-linked terrorism funding, despite Pakistan reversing its boycott.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut claimed on February 15, 2026, that India’s cricket matches against Pakistan, including the T20 World Cup fixture in Colombo, are not genuine sporting events but vehicles for illicit betting benefiting BJP leaders, particularly ICC Chairman Jay Shah.
He alleged that betting proceeds, funneled through networks in Gujarat and Rajasthan, fund terrorism linked to attacks in Pahalgam, Pulwama, Uri, and Pathankot, citing Rs 25,000 crore in transfers during a prior match.
Pakistan initially boycotted the game in solidarity with Bangladesh, expelled over venue security concerns, but reversed its decision after government intervention and talks involving the ICC, PCB, and BCB.
The match is set for 7 PM at R Premadasa Stadium.
