Japan’s KANKO explores manufacturing partnership in India’s Tiruppur to expand supply chain.
Japan’s KANKO, a 170-year-old school uniform maker, is exploring a manufacturing partnership with Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, as part of its global supply chain expansion.
During a visit, KANKO met with the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association, which highlighted the region’s strong textile base, skilled workforce, and export turnover of about Rs 45,000 crore.
The India-Japan Free Trade Agreement, fast shipping to Singapore, and proximity to major ports were noted as key advantages.
KANKO may start with small orders to evaluate quality and service before scaling up.
