Indian para badminton player Pramod Bhagat won gold in the men’s SL3 singles at the 2026 BWF Para World Championships, defeating Indonesia’s Muhammad Al Imran 21-12, 21-18.
The 37-year-old, who has polio, claimed his sixth world title and fourth consecutive in the category, becoming the most decorated singles champion in world championship history across all badminton disciplines.
The victory marks a redemption after an 18-month suspension for missing anti-doping checks, which kept him out of the 2024 Paralympics.
Bhagat also won gold in men’s doubles SL3-SL4 with Sukant Kadam, while India’s N. Sivakumar and M. Ramadass earned silver in their respective singles events.
