The Tripura Cabinet has approved two new medical colleges—one Ayurvedic in Tepania and one Homoeopathy in Agartala—each starting with 60 students in 2026–27, along with 555 new government jobs.
The Ayurvedic college will initially operate from Chandrapur, while the Homoeopathy college will use the Netaji Subhas State Homoeo Hospital.
The move includes hiring 330 IT staff, 110 Veterinary Officers, 100 health workers, and other roles, plus increased stipends for tribal hostel students and housing benefits for state troops.
Decisions were made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manik Saha.
