Top-seeded American Taylor Fritz rallied to beat fellow American Sebastian Korda 6-7(2), 6-4, 7-6(5) in a three-set thriller at the ATP Dallas Open, advancing to the semi-finals.
Despite suffering a sharp right elbow injury during the first set, Fritz managed the pain with treatment and painkillers, saving all four break points and firing 22 aces.
He won the final tiebreak 7-5 after Korda made two forehand errors.
Fritz will face Croatia’s Marin Cilic, a 2014 US Open champion, who defeated British qualifier Jack Pinnington Jones 6-1, 6-4.
The other semi-final matchups feature defending champion Denis Shapovalov against Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and American Ben Shelton versus Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic.
