Nine U.S. Army Soldier-athletes and coaches are competing in Italy at world championships in bobsled, biathlon, Nordic combined, and figure skating as part of the Army’s World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), which has supported over 600 athletes and helped them earn more than 120 medals since its founding over 75 years ago.
The event in northern Italy honors the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division’s role in World War II alpine warfare.

1st Class Shauna Rohbock, a pioneer in women’s bobsled, and Staff Sgt.
Deedra Irwin, a biathlete aiming for the U.S.’s first medal in the sport after her seventh-place finish in Beijing 2022.
