Holyoke Public Schools has selected Jackie Glasheen, a longtime district leader, as its new superintendent, marking the first locally chosen leader in over a decade since the state ended its receivership in July 2025.
Glasheen, who has worked in the district since 1992 and served as assistant superintendent since May 2025, will take office in July following contract negotiations.
She succeeds interim Superintendent Anthony Soto, who will remain as chief of finance and operations.
The School Committee cited her deep community ties, experience, and commitment to student-centered change as key reasons for her selection.
