A Ghanaian man admitted to wearing a military uniform to impress a nurse and was arrested, facing charges of impersonating an officer.
Joseph Baadah, a 34-year-old Accra trader, appeared in Ghana’s Adabraka District Court on charges of impersonating a military officer after wearing a camouflage uniform without insignia at the 37 Military Hospital on February 8, 2026.
He admitted he wore the outfit to impress a nurse he had met, claiming he bought it from a secondhand vendor at Kantamanto Market.
Confronted by military police, he was arrested, confirmed not to be a soldier, and transferred to police custody.
Baadah pleaded not guilty, was granted GH¢30,000 bail with sureties, and is set to return to court on March 24, 2026.
