Davenport appoints Tim Gleason as new city administrator, pending council approval on Feb. 25.
Davenport has chosen Tim Gleason as its new city administrator after a nationwide search, with city council approval needed on February 25 for him to start March 2.
Gleason, who has served as interim administrator since November 2025, previously held city management roles in Illinois and managed emergency response during a 2013 tornado.
With over 21 years in law enforcement and advanced degrees in management and public administration, he holds certifications from national professional organizations and leadership training from Harvard and the Naval Postgraduate School.
Mayor Jason Gordon said Gleason was the best fit among strong candidates.
